My way of doing business…

is personal.

three horizons…

I work with you on three horizons. Each is vital to what we will do together. If this were working on cars, the first horizon is maintenance. The second horizon is upgrading the engine. The third horizon is, “Do you want to consider flying an airplane?” With this approach, I work with you and your technology. And understanding you and understanding the technology are equally important.

get technology out of your way…

You need to do what you do, without technology getting in your way. But it does on a daily basis. And some days, it grinds your operations to a halt. Let’s work together to get rid of the friction your technology causes and to decrease the chances of a serious disaster such as data loss. And by getting me onboard, you’ll have someone to call.

let technology help you…

Now that we’ve changed the oil and rotated the tires, let’s upgrade the engine. What can we do with technology to help you do what you do, more efficiently? What have you been doing for the past 5 years that you do just because that’s how you’ve done it? Is there technology we can implement to improve your processes? An important rule here is to not introduce technology that interferes too much with our first goal of getting technology out of your way. This is a delicate balance. I will get to know you and your tolerance for newness. I will sometimes push you forward and sometimes hold back because I know you aren’t ready. This is where my skills with people are vital.

use technology to transform your business…

And now for the airplane. Here’s a great exercise we will go through once in awhile. Break your business down to just your vision. If you don’t have a vision, we’ll need to start there. Throw away everything else. If you were to build your business today, with today’s technology, how you would you go about it? Now that we have that, what would you work on to move your business as it is now towards that hypothetical business?
